NKOTB Contest at the Digital Scrapbook Place

One of my first forays into the world of digital scrapbooking was to enter the New Kids On the Block scrapbooking contest at the Digital Scrapbook Place. I entered for the learning experience.

The program ran for three weeks. You would submit a layout made from the week's assigned scrapbook kit for constructive criticism from your assigned "mommies." You would then have the opportunity to apply the suggestions they gave you and resubmit the page. You cold do this as many times as you wanted during that week.

The "mommies" were wonderful. They were very good at giving lots of loving encouragement and instruction. I felt like I their "star" child.

At the end of the three weeks you were given the opportunity to submit your best layout to be in the judging round. Those layouts judged to be in the top ten received various prizes. Really, though, everyone was a winner if they entered the judging round since each entrant in the judging round received a $3.99 coupon code for a kit of their choice from the DSP Store. I think there were 36 of us who completed the three weeks and went to the judging round. I thought that was awesome. There were some fabulous layouts done. You can have a look here.

I am going to tell you, up front, that I did not win any awards. LOL That's ok, as I said, I was there to learn and learn I did. I had only ever attempted to do a digital scrapbook page once or twice before so this was very much a learning experience.

In the next few posts, I would like to share with you my first and last layouts for each week so you can observe for yourself the growth that occurred during the course of the contest.
